School-Based Collaboration: A Readiness Guide for Prevention Professionals

The information and suggestions presented in the guide are based on the experiences of prevention professionals with the Iowa Prevention of Methamphetamine Abuse Project, funded through the Iowa Department of Public Health with funds from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's Center for Substance Abuse Prevention. Practical recommendations based on this group's successes and challenges in implementing school-based programs are provided within the guide in the form of articles addressing key aspects of school-based program implementation.

The main objective of this guide is to assist prevention professionals and prevention educators with the process of program implementation in the school setting. Portions of this guide target prevention professionals who are new to the field of prevention or to an agency. However, experienced professional staff in the field will find several parts of the guide useful as well.
