Immunization Assessments

Goals for immunizations have been set on many levels and achieving high levels of vaccine coverage improves the health status of the population. Continual evaluation of progress toward national, state, and local immunization goals is necessary for a healthcare provider to effectively administer vaccines.

The Immunization Program provides quality assurance visits and immunization assessments to participating Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program providers throughout the state. Clinic immunization records are assessed to determine the percentage of children who are vaccinated appropriately for their age. Immunization assessment data is used to improve healthcare provider’s standard immunization practices which directly impact the overall immunization rate of their patients.
