The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) Disability and Health Program (DHP) advocates for inclusion and accessible environments so Iowans with disabilities have access to health services along with working, living and playing in their community.

DHP provides training and technical assistance to IDPH programs, partners, healthcare providers, family members and people with disabilities on accessing healthcare. DHP works to increase health promotion opportunities through informational resources, 508 compliance, program access and physical access using ADAAG surveys and training professionals regarding communication and accommodation for patients with disabilities.
