Non-Research Related Data Requests

*6/17/2020: Due to the Iowa Department of Public Health's COVID-19 pandemic response and staff duty reassignments, data sharing agreement and research agreement application approvals are delayed. Because this situation is changing daily, a timeline for approval can not be provided by the Department.

IDPH collects and maintains a wide variety of datasets, which may be available upon the approval of a Data Sharing Agreement. Data Sharing Agreements are required for the release of confidential or implied confidential data for non-research purposes.  All Data Sharing Agreements are coordinated through the IDPH Data Management and Health Equity Program.  The data received shall only be used for the recorded purpose and requestors are expected to comply with all confidentiality policies to protect the privacy of subjects.

The Iowa Department of Public Health recommends starting requests for confidential or implied confidential data a minimum of 60 days prior to the start of your project.

If you are seeking county-level counts or rates, please review the information available here first to determine if the information you need is already published on our webpage.

To initiate a Data Sharing Agreement with IDPH, please review the below policies related to data release and complete the application.  Questions and application can be sent to RERC@idph.iowa.gov.
