According to the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH), 294,000 adult Iowans experienced a problem related to their gambling in the past year, potentially creating significant social and economic costs for individuals, families, businesses and communities. Governor Branstad will sign a proclamation Thursday, March 2, designating March as Problem Gambling Awareness month in Iowa.

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month (2/17/17)

Governor Branstad will sign a state proclamation Wednesday, February 22, recognizing March as Colorectal Cancer Awareness month in Iowa. According to the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH), colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in Iowa and seven out of 10 people diagnosed with colorectal cancer had no signs or symptoms.
