Iowa 5-2-1-0 Health Campaign Expands (7/10/19)

The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) today announced expanded funding of the “5-2-1-0 – Healthy Choices Count!” campaign, which began in 2017 in Iowa. Six new communities will receive grants, while the nine communities currently funded for the initiative will receive additional grants.

IDPH Offers Drowning Prevention Reminders (6/19/19)

Drownings are a leading cause of injury death for children ages 1 to 14 and three children die each day in the U.S. because of drowning. Nationally, drowning kills more children ages 1 through 4 than anything else except birth defects. Thursday, June 20, 2019, Governor Reynolds will sign a proclamation declaring June 16 through 22 as Drowning Prevention Week in Iowa.
