Iowa Communities Recognized for Fluoridation (5/15/18)

The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced today that two Iowa communities have been awarded fluoride certificates by the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors on behalf of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and American Dental Association (ADA). This award is presented in recognition of the contributions the water systems have made toward improving the health of their communities through water fluoridation from 1967-2017.

The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals (DIA) today jointly issued a consumer advisory for chicken salad sold at Fareway stores. The chicken salad, which is produced and packaged by a third party for Fareway, is implicated in multiple cases of salmonella illness across Iowa.
