The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) today posted a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a second medical cannabidiol manufacturer. Interested parties must notify their intent to apply by 4:00 p.m. on May 16, 2018. Formal applications will be due by 4:00 p.m. May 31, 2018, and the department will announce its intended licensee June 29, 2018.
Licensed in November 2017, the state’s first medical cannabidiol manufacturer, MedPharm Iowa, is required to have products available for distribution by December 1, 2018. The second manufacturer licensee will be required to have products available no later than July 1, 2019.
