AmeriCorps Member Enrollment
AmeriCorps Members come from diverse backgrounds, have a passion for community service and compassion for those in need of support. In order for a member to be eligible for the service, the following expectations must be met:
An AmeriCorps member must:
- Be at least 17 years of age at the commencement of service or be an out-of-school youth of at least 16 years of age participating in a youth corps-type program or an out-of-school youth of at least 16 years of age enrolled in a program for economically disadvantaged youth as defined in the Act (42 USC 12572A9)
- Have a high school diploma or its equivalent, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Be a citizen, national or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.
- Photo identification and member age eligibility documentation required to be retained
- Must pass the National Service Criminal History background check requirements
