What does IDPH do to address healthy weight?

What can I do?

  • Increase your daily amounts of physical activity and encourage your community to make it easier for citizens of all ages and all abilities to walk by passing a complete streets policy.
  • Make half your plate fruits and vegetables and place fruits and vegetables within reach for a healthy snack.
  • Promote and support breastfeeding.
  • Iowans can make sure they know their prediabetes or diabetes status and risk by talking to their health care provider.
  • Reduce the risk of suffering from a heart attack or stroke by knowing your health numbers (blood pressure, blood cholesterol, and blood glucose levels).
