Increase access to health services for Iowans

How are we doing?

IDPH Access to Health Services Scorecard

What does IDPH do to increase access to health services?

What can I do?

  • Become informed and knowledgeable about current health care transformation initiatives in Iowa by learning more about the work of the Office of Health Care Transformation and the Patient-Centered Health Advisory Council. Meetings are open to the public. To find out where and when the next advisory council will be held, visit us here.
  • Create a family disaster plan and family disaster kit. Review the plan at least once a year. For help creating a disaster plan and more information on what should be included in the kit, go to www.ready.gov/kit.
  • Iowans are encouraged to report incompetent or unethical health care practice. Contact the appropriate board office by telephone or complete a complaint form.
  • Learn about the importance of good oral health and how to keep your mouth healthy.
  • All Iowans can make themselves aware of the possibility of exposure to radiation, especially from medical procedures.
